From Data to Real Impact: How Zgonc Is Rethinking Customer Engagement with Insider
Updated on 8 Oct 2025
Zgonc, Austria’s leading specialist retailer for tools, machinery, and equipment, is raising the bar for the customer experience. With Insider as their growth partner, they’re turning raw data into connections that matter and are faster, smarter, and more personal than ever. Robert Einsiedl, Zgonc’s Head of Marketing, shares what drove their choice, what’s changing, and how Insider is reshaping their customer engagement journey.
The Challenge: Turning Customer Data into Relevance
With a product catalog of over 15,000 items and a customer base that often researches online but purchases offline, Zgonc faced a common challenge in retail: how to provide relevant, personalized experiences that actually convert.
“While we’ve built strong brand recognition, we saw room to improve how we engage each customer individually,” says Robert. “Many of our customers still shop offline, so integrating online and offline data is crucial.”
But with a tight-knit team of five and expert partners at their side, Zgonc needed a platform that works seamlessly to unify their marketing efforts.
Why Insider?
When evaluating potential technology partners, Zgonc considered several platforms, including HubSpot and Braze. But Insider stood out for its usability and its interactive demo, which showcased granular segmentation capabilities, dynamic content options, and multichannel experimentation.
“Architect makes building automation feel simple, even when it’s complex,” says Robert. i “The email editor is also powerful, as its dynamic content and embedded forms bring the customer into the experience, which improves our engagement and conversion.”
Insider also offered the flexibility to unify marketing channels and consolidate existing tools, replacing their previous email and onsite search systems.
The Future: Unified Commerce and Multichannel Engagement
Looking ahead, Zgonc aims to create a truly unified commerce experience, combining offline and online data to deliver personalized campaigns across multiple channels. WhatsApp is one of the next channels they plan to explore, alongside AI-powered shop assistants and service agents.
“Most of our customers are still offline, so integrating that data is a big priority. Insider will help us bridge the gap,” says Robert.
A Partnership for Growth
Zgonc’s adoption of Insider marks a strategic step toward data-driven, personalized marketing. With each new message, smarter AI help, and real insights coming together, every channel is a chance to create something better for their customers—and for their business.
